Throughout this website you will find information about the Adoption, Foster-to-Adopt, and Foster Care Programs for Edmonton & Area Child & Family Services Region 6.

At the Adoption & Foster Care Recruitment Program we look to find suitable families for children in need.

 

You do not need to be married or heterosexual to Adopt or Foster. You do have to be willing to work with special needs children and to accept and welcome support from outside sources. Children in Foster Care may have a little to a lot of contact with their biological families.

 

You will find that you do not need to look beyond the borders of North America, of Canada, or even of Alberta to find children in need. We offer Information Sessions, Exhibits, and Events to raise awareness of the children and our program.  For more information please contact us.

 

The Application Process

 

· For all programs, the first place to start is coming to an Information Session and setting up a time to meet with a mentor from the Adoption & Foster Care Recruitment Program.

 

· Mentors will assist you with the completion of the documentation required depending on the program you are applying for.

 

· When your file is ready, it is transferred to the appropriate intake worker.

Text Box: WE ARE HIRING! We currently have openings for the following positions: Mentor/Screener: to assist people through the application process. Experience in Fostering or Adoption and/or education in the humanities field is an asset. Starts at $15-16/hr based on credentials. Marketing Assistant: to assist the Marketing Manager in promoting the program and generate inquiries. Computer skills a must. Own transportation is necessary. Starts at $14-15/hr based on credentials. Recruiter: to man display and information booths. Must be able to work independently. $10.25/hr on a contracted basis. All positions offer health benefits, $0.43/km mileage for work-based transportation, and $40/month cell phone allowance.
